Has anyone seen the WT DVD “What will you do with your life?” I have watched it and it’s a masterpiece of propaganda. Even I felt like I should just quit my job and go pioneering, tell my children not to seek good employment, not to go well in sports, Jehovah will provide their Bowl of Rice to keep them alive, etc….etc…. now I’ll need to unbrainwash my kids. They showed it in the KH as a special viewing, the main movie was about the usual length, 45 mins, but after that there was more clips and experience’s and interviews, it seen to go on and on, I could sense the ‘sign” from the audience when the interviews kept coming, it was 10:30 when they decided to stop the DVD and let everyone go home, it still wasn’t over! It made my stomach turn, when I thought of all the life that this movie will waste.

D'Fing and Love
by I-CH-TH-U-S ini once talked to a jw about disfellowshipping and was curious to how can this be showing a christly love when you all out turn your back on them.
he gave me an answer about rightousness and unrightrousness having no fellowship (which is biblical) but it didnt make sense to me.
didnt seem applicable in many ways.

i need some advise
by bayrhino inwe'll were do i start i've surfed your board and i now at the point of breaking away from the jw organization .
for about 2 years now i've read and done some research and seen all the lies cover up read "crisis if conscience" ray franz and i got to the meeting and see all these people hundreds just going about not being open minded if wt tells these people the world is flat the thats what they'll believe and never question it.
we'll im 28 and been a jw all my life met my wife got married i have 2 wonderfull kids.

I am in exactly the same shoes mate. I have known of the WST lies for about 5 years now, but I still go to meetings, I was at that bookstudy also when they discussed 607BCE and I know exactly how u felt, I didn't answer up that evening at all.
All my family are JW"s and my friends are mostly JWS, I am married to a good woman and I have 2 teenage girls (step girls). I know others will give you different advice but as far as I am concerned, just keep playing their game, its not really worth it to get yourself DFed or DA. not when your whole life has revolved around them, just keep telling your wife little bits and pieces and slowly I am sure she will see the lies of the WTS, but it can take a few years, "walk the walk and talk the talk".
As far as your dad is concerned, don't forget that he is an Elder and he is mostly concerned of his postion, its a great shame to be stood-down as an Elder and he won't let that happen untill he is 110% sure and a little news ' here and their' isn't enought, but keep telling him things in PRIVATE and let him think about it.
Another reason why I keep going to the meeting is because of my teenage girls, although the WTS isn't the truth, its better for them to have freinds from the KH then their school friends. Of course I will discourage them to get batized and I have also tell them little bits and pieces so that they won't have blind faith in the WTS, when they are older I will except them to go their own way and so will I.
Be Innocent like a dove but Cautious like a serpent.

Do the angels guide people to the witnesses?
by undercover ini remember growing up that we used to hear experiences of people who felt lost in life or weren't happy and miraculasly a jw showed up at the door and brought life-saving good news to the distressed one who moments ago was seeking help from god in prayer.. and there were the experiences of people who led a life of debauchery until realizing that they weren't happy and they had to change.
enter jws as a study was started and the former evil-doer was transformed into a zealous servant of god.. we've all heard the stories.
they were always shared at assemblies and public talks to impress upon us that god's spirit was acting upon either the witness who found the searching on or that the spirit moved the searching one to find the organization.

If you take the time to hear other religions, they ALL have stories like that. I once heard a young man being intereviewed on TV, he was saying how grateful he was that Jesus lead him to his church and how his life was saved, how he changed for the better etc.. etc.. that church was called " The People's Temple" and their leader was named Jim Jones. Of course that is an exteme example, but ALL religions have stoires like that, listen to the TV evangelist, they have interviews of men and women who's lives were 'lost' until they heard their message and then they changed and they've being happier ever since.
Of course a 'good' JW never listens to other religions because they all come from satan except for the WTS.

Why do dubs think they're smarter than everyone else?
by MsMcDucket inhave you ever noticed this?
i mean it could be about something as simple as washing dishes, but they knew how to do it a better way.
has anyone else had an experience with a witness that just knew it all?

The Lone Ranger
I think its because they REALLY believe that they are God's special people, and they are full of Holy Spirit, God's had chosen them from others in the world to be part of his organisation. They believe that because of this they are wiser then others and the WTS are very clever at selecting the right verse's to tickle their ears. Let's not forget that satan knows how to use the bible verse's to support his lies.

what would happen if you got a divorce and told the elders nothing...
by ?me? inwhat would/could happen if you and your wife decided that you needed to divorce?
lets say one of us screwed up and cheated, how do you think it would go over if you stonewalled the elders when they tried to get some info?
just told them "it is personal" or just told them that there was grounds to divorce ( even if you did not give any more info).
-
The Lone Ranger
They will try and find out what has happened and why the divorce. IF you tell them nothing and both continue in the congregation neither of you can remarry, if one of you marry then it will be consider adultery on that persons part and he/she will be Dfed and then the remaining one can remarry and without being DFed.
But every BOE are a law to themselves.
I know of a couple personally who were married for 7 years , the husband realised that the woman could not have children and that she knew about this before they married but did not tell the husband that she couldn't have children, when the husband felt it was time to have children he discovered his wife's problem and that she knew about it before they married but did not tell him, he was so upset that she lied all those years that he left her, they divorced and then after about 2 years they both remarried to new partners and yet no one got DFed and both still to this day attend the kingdom Hall but at different congregations. Explain that one !

Would you give blood now? Would you accept it?
by sass_my_frass inhow do you feel about blood now?
the thought of taking a blood transfusion still gives me the creeps... but now i know that i'd take one if my life was on the line.
i'm thinking about giving blood too.
-
The Lone Ranger
If I give blood or take blood it would be purely based on health reasons, nothing to do with spiritual reasons, like it once was.

Is your congregation on medication?
by toby888 in.
over half my cong.
members have mental issues and are taking prozac or some other medication for depression or other mental problems.many are going or have gone to therapists... anyone have a similar situation?
-
The Lone Ranger
Even as a man, the more I get to know the women in the congo the more reveil to me that they are on anti-depressives, I don't know of any brother who is on anti-depressive but the achocol probably helps. It seems that its the older single women, over 30 that find if harder to cope, thats my observation.
